Death and Rebirth 2019 The Little Galley

Death and Rebirth was a live performance piece which highlighted the sacred sacrifice of the samsaric cycle: Nothing ends without a new beginning. During the live performance, the act of eating was used to represent the ongoing sacrifices made in which continuous killing (of plants, of animals) occurs to sustain ourselves. The three-dimensional sculptures, deep vibrant colors, and sacrificial alter in the space evoked the sense of endless sacrifice for the benefit of mythological gods who took their pleasure at the expense of others.
